How to witness and easily break poor habits and stories

“Everything changes when we become witness to the story, instead of the actor in it."
- Ram Dass

I started reading Ram Dass' book, Be Here Now.

And it's no surprise.

Like clockwork, the end-of-year is when I get more spiritual and introspective about my life. Do you not?

I start to slow down and witness my thoughts on a deeper level. Witness the stories that have governed my life. Witness the habits I find myself in.

And from this place of witness, I can honestly make huge leaps and changes pretty easily.

Ya'll know that's true. This exact time last year Chris and I decided to move from Germany to a new country. We didn't even know we'd come to Curacao this time last year -- and yet it feels like a lifetime ago.

This doesn't happen if we don't take time to witness ourselves.

Fast forward to today.

On a walk this morning I recognized I want to be an attractor to the things I want, and not always in doer mode.

As an entrepreneur, I have glorified the doer in myself. I've totally praised the go-getter. Being person who sends the first message. Being the yes person.

But in 2023 I want to be attracting people to me. Through my writing. My networks. And through my energy field.

What's funny (or probably ridiculous) is that most of my clients already come via referral or seeing a post of mine that resonated with them.

They are already attracted to me and only a few come because the doer in me got to them first!!

Being is the doer mode is madness, is it not?!

Which is why it's so important to witness ourselves.

From this place we can access deeper truths on what to do next.

Your task is to witness yourself.

Witness who you've been this year.

Witness the stories you've taught yourself to believe.

Witness the actions and habits that kept you locked in a dance that won't serve you next year.

Two ways to do that:

1. Go on a walking meditation and listen to Wayne Dyer's meditation, I am That, I am

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." Wayne Dyer

2. Journal and write down your thoughts. Just get them on paper so you can see them, whatever they are. As you have a written dialogue with yourself, you're gonna catch a whole lot that could use tweaking.

Plus, register to join my final Liv.Aligned class this year on 12.12.22, with my long-time spiritual director, Rose Boghos.

She will be doing a spiritual audit of 2022 (the lessons we should have gotten this year) as well as a spiritual forecast of 2023. She'll surprise you, I promise.

Email me at tracey@livlitceo.com to let me know your thoughts and ideas from this newsletter. And let me know if you're coming to Rose's class this year and want to get a free intuitive reading from her.

Lots of love,

xx Tracey
